A majority of their business is done online via an eCommerce storefront. In June of 2021, they connected with our team at MHP/Team SI to help them grow their business, reach a wider audience, and lower their ad spend. As stated earlier, they are an e-commerce company specializing in high-quality nutritional supplements. The Austin, Texas-based company was founded over 30 years ago with a mission to provide consumers with the highest quality nutritional supplements, using only the purest ingredients.
Previously, the company leaned heavily on radio programming and its loyal customer base to drive business. Those factors skewed to a more mature demographic. Understanding that for future growth, and that they must start reaching a more diverse audience, they began the search for someone to help them create a strong digital marketing program that would be a key element to the company’s success.
The First 90 Days Evaluation:
Within the first 90 days of working together, our team was able to reduce the company’s total ad spend by 50%, as well as decrease the cost per order from nearly $100 to only $43. Additionally, by focusing on high-performing digital marketing tactics, we were able to increase their conversion rate year over year from 0.67% in 2020 to 3.69% in 2021. Their KPI’s (key performance indicators) continue to improve year over year as our team optimizes campaign targeting.
Something that we made sure to be upfront about in our dealings with the nutritional supplement company, is that having a bigger ad budget does not equate to an increase on their ROI (Return on Investment). It’s only by using a smarter budget that an increase in ROI occurs. And that was the expertise that we brought to the table: smarter investments.
We decreased their budget while optimizing their ads to increase their clicks by 34.3% and decreasing their CPC (cost per click) by 24.4%. They were paying significantly less money to reach a wider audience of people. And that wider audience, in turn, increased their eCommerce conversion rate by 101.6%.
